Focused on Customers Since 1955

Beginnings in 1955

Headquartered in Norwood Massachusetts, Advanced Instruments has spent 70 years designing systems that help global customers improve product quality and safety, meet regulatory requirements, and reduce costs.

Experts in Freezing Point Depression

Our first products commercialized freezing-point depression technology, bringing the advantages of electronic automation to the lab (a big innovation for 1955!). Freezing-point depression technology was a classical method for solute concentration studies in dairy testing and Advanced Instruments helped establish the method with nephrologists, making it a staple of laboratory medicine.

Growing Into Microbiology

Advanced Instruments acquires Mart Microbiology in 2007, marking our entrance into the microbiology segment with the anaerobic jar system, Anoxomat. The latest version of this system, Anoxomat® III, helps labs automatically and easily create exact and repeatable environments for microbiology labs.

Establishing A Presence in the UK

Advanced instruments acquires Vitech Scientific in 2014, our distribution partner in the United Kingdom since 1985. This acquisition brings a direct local presence of sales and support experts for our instruments throughout the United Kingdom.

Patricia Industries Provides Long Term Stability

Advanced Industries is acquired in 2020 by Patricia Industries, a long-term owner that invests in companies and works to develop each one to its full potential. Being part of Investor AB, Northern Europe’s largest industrial holding company, listed on Nasdaq Stockholm , Patricia’s ownership provides us with the resources and stability to continue delivering innovative and impactful solutions to our customers while we continue to grow.
