Protinol

Use Protinol Protein-Based Controls to evaluate performance when testing serum, plasma, or stool. Available at three clinically relevant levels:

  • Low: 240, Normal: 280, and High: 320 mOsm/kg H2O

Renol

Use Renol Urine Osmolality Controls to evaluate performance when testing urine. Available at two clinically relevant levels:

  • Low: 300, and High: 800 mOsm/kg H2O

FAQs

It is important to use controls that are formulated to tight tolerance specifications by a reputable manufacturer. There is a tolerance associated with formulating a calibrator/control due to normal variations in the instrumentation and quality control processes. This tolerance can affect the mean value obtained when using the calibrator.
