Our newest version of software for VIPS® PRO, Cell Metric® X and ICON™, STUDIUS 1.6, has officially been released.

This software update contains enhancements on the previous version of STUDIUS as well as the exciting new functionality that can be found below.

How can this new functionality benefit my CLD workflow?

The inclusion of the PAIA Glycan Assay on ICON means users can perform the simultaneously site-specific screening of high mannose, galactose, fucose and 2,3 / 2,6 sialic acids on their IgG and Fc-containing proteins in a matter of hours. In addition, the assay requires as little as 10 μL – with crude supernatant measurements possible – so screening can take place as early as the 96-deep well plate. Complete data management and analysis within STUDIUS means decisions can be made instantly, with confidence, and without error.

New and Improved Neural Network for Automated Evidence of Clonality Scans on Cell Metric® X

Automated Evidence of Clonality (AEC) scans provide high contrast, multi-plane whole-well images and utilize an artificial intelligence (AI)-based neural network for high throughput detection of single cells on Day 0 in 96- or 384-well plates.

Images and data from AEC scans can then be included in the submission ready Clonality Report using our 21-CFR-Part 11 compliant STUDIUS software.

What is new for AEC with STUDIUS 1.6?

The STUDIUS AI-based neural network has been trained and validated to detect hybridoma and insect Sf9 single cells at day 0 to improve the efficiency of antibody discovery and recombinant protein production platforms, respectively:

What has been improved in AEC with STUDIUS 1.6?

With the new and improved AEC in STUDIUS 1.6 we see significantly reduced false positive debris detection, this leads to an overall increase in cell detection accuracy. The new AEC can have cell detection accuracy as high as 91%.
