A legacy of quality and service
NORWOOD, Mass., August 20, 2015Advanced Instruments, Inc., a leading supplier of instrumentation for clinical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, microbiology, and dairy laboratories around the world, announces their 60th anniversary celebration and search for their oldest working osmometer or cryoscope.
In 1955 Bud Wiggin set out to bring advanced functionality to the clinical and dairy markets from his home’s basement office and first coined the term “Osmometer”. From there, the company has grown to be the market leader in osmolality testing, now a standard test in hospital laboratories around the world. Advanced Instruments is committed to designing, manufacturing, and servicing state-of-the-art instruments used in medical and industrial laboratories.

The Oldest Osmometer Contest showcases the company’s dedication to quality, reliability, customer service, and providing the best – and longest lasting – instrumentation possible. The contestant able to produce the oldest working Advanced or Fiske osmometer or cryoscope will win $500 towards the purchase of a new instrument or consumables, as well as a $500 donation to a major health research foundation in their name.
It’s easy to enter, simply fill out a short form and upload a photo of the system in use. All entries must be submitted by October 31, 2015. The contest is valid only in the United States and Canada.
