New InstiGRO­­™ CHO PLUS

Advanced Instruments is excited to announce a new and improved formulation of InstiGRO CHO PLUS!

Ensuring that cells receive the metabolites they need is fundamental for success. While cell culture mediums do their best, cells often need a little extra support from cell culture supplements to overcome stressful processes, such as single cell isolation. Advanced Instruments’ InstiGRO CHO PLUS was developed in 2019 to promote the growth of healthy clonal colonies. Our new and improved formulation has unlocked a new level of potential, enabling cloning efficiency and average colony size to be further optimized. With this improved formulation, scientists can further streamline their projects by reducing the number of plates required and starting clonal expansion at an earlier timepoint.

Rest assured, our new InstiGRO CHO PLUS formulation remains animal component-free and undergoes the same rigorous quality control and sterility checks as the original formulation. Consequently, there will be no alterations to the information provided on the Certificate of Analysis.

In terms of ordering the product, there have been no changes to the product part numbers – Our new InstiGRO CHO PLUS is still available in both 5mL and 25 mL quantities.

Customer Case Study

UGA Biopharma are a European CDMO specializing in the development of monoclonal cell lines for the manufacture of biologics and biosimilars.

The organization kindly evaluated the cloning efficiency and average colony size achieved with both the original and improved formulations of InstiGRO CHO PLUS

Results:

Table 1. Shows the average percentage clonal outgrowth following single cell seeding via limiting dilution. UGA Biopharma’s First CHOice® medium and an alternate commercially available cell culture medium (Medium A) were supplemented with either the new formulation of InstiGRO CHO PLUS, the original formulation of InstiGRO CHO PLUS, or a control supplement. Following 14 days culture, the average percentage clonal outgrowth for each condition was calculated.

UGA Biopharma’s First CHOice medium was supplemented with 5% of the respective version of InstiGRO CHO PLUS (n=3). The Cell Metric® imager was used to capture evidence of clonality and monitor colony growth rates.
