Advanced Instruments Shifts Production to Assemble Over 5000 Face Shields for Local Massachusetts Hospitals

NORWOOD, MA – April 7, 2020:

Advanced Instruments, a Norwood, MA based designer and manufacturer of lab instrumentation and supplies for the clinical, biotechnology and food & beverage markets, is stepping up to help local community hospitals amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. As shortages of personal protective equipment (PPE) continue, a joint task force of several Advanced Instruments employees from R&D, Engineering, Operations and Regulatory Affairs identified a solution to quickly help hospitals in need during this growing crisis. The company added the assembly of face shields procured from Lacerta Group in Mansfield, MA, to it its regular instrument production. The face shields are intended to be worn over masks to help medical staff treating patients to further protect against transmission of the COVID-19 virus. More than 5,000 protective face shields have been donated to local Massachusetts hospitals in urgent need.
